Dear Parents, Guardians & Students (past, present & potential),
Let me take this moment to welcome you to my web site. This website is designed as a forum for all of my students, where they can come to see each others progress and unite them under one system of martial arts.
I come from and still belong to a family oriented institution where we are proud to have families training together; in fact, my dad & I started our Martial Arts training at One Step Beyond and for years took class together. This forged a special bond between us that is hard to duplicate by other means. My 22 year old and 15 year old daughters also have been taking class since they were able to walk and hopefully they will continue in the family tradition. Though I no longer own One Step Beyond I continue to be involved with the dojo's curriculum and testing as a senior ranking instructor in our style (And the highest ranking female in our style). I continue to teach and to mentor in our other locations as well to make sure the system does not go silent.
The programs that I teach will take all my students on their very own “Quest to Be Their Best”. This credo will mean taking different paths for different people. I understand that each student is a special individual, with varying strengths and weaknesses. As instructors in the Martial Arts, my responsibility is to “Weed out the Weakness, Not the Weak”. The curriculum that I teach at my dojos(training centers) are designed so that with effort, everyone who has the will to succeed can succeed, not only in the outward physical aspects of Martial Arts (punching & kicking) but the internal mental benefits, self-confidence, self-discipline even stress relief.
